Online NFL Gambling – How to Gamble on NFL Games
Learn how to gamble on NFL games with these online NFL gambling tips
So you’re new to sports betting. You’d like to get more into NFL games, but where do you start? Online NFL gambling is an easy way to get into the game. Follow these basic tips to learn how to gamble on NFL games:
Types of NFL Bets
Do some basic research on the different types of NFL bets. You should know what you’re betting on before you actually put down real money on a bet. Our website focuses on Teaser Bets and straight bets (against the spread), but there are many other types of bets including parlays, props, and others. Read our article on the different NFL betting types for in depth descriptions of each of them. While we recommend teasers for consistent profit, how you gamble on NFL games is your choice. Find the bet you want to play and proceed to the next step. PLEASE BET RESPONSIBLY.
Find the Lines
See where the current lines stand. The line defines which team is favored and which team is the underdog in a specific game. You can find information on NFL lines from many places, including sports websites, online sportsbooks, or even your local newspaper. It would be better to find these lines at a location where you are placing a bet, as the line will change from time-to-time based on which team the general public is betting heavily on.
Find a place to bet
There are many different ways to place a bet. If you are at a casino they may have a sportsbook where you can bet on many different types of sports. Many people also use online sportsbooks, which are easy enough to find by a quick search (try “online sports betting,” “online NFL gambling,” or “online sportsbooks.”) We recommend you try a few out before you sign up – find out how easy it is to place a bet, compare the lines to make sure you get the best odds. You can also check out our reviews of the three sportsbooks that we regularly use.
NOTE: The Final Line is not a gambling website; we do not take money for wagers and are not intending to violate any local, state, or federal laws. Please read our terms and conditions before using our website.
Changing the line is a huge advantage for the bettor, but the only disadvantage of teaser bets is the payouts – betting $100 would only win $83 when taking 6.5 points, for example. At face value, football teasers seem to be less lucrative than straight bets, which only require you to win against the spread. However, if you play teasers consistently, over time you will win far more often than by betting against the spread, earning you more profit over time.
What is a Football Teaser? Advantages and Disadvantages of Football Teaser Bets
- In a teaser, you pair two games together
- You add points to both lines to improve your chances of winning
- Both games must win for the teaser to win
- Immediate returns are lower than straight bets
- Over time, football teaser bets win more often and earn more profit
Here’s our take at The Final Line: 2-team football teasers are the safest way to make low-risk, high reward profits over time. Our system analyzes every team with careful and thorough statistical analysis, finds teams that are under-valued against the spread, and pairs them into a football teaser by adding points to both lines to improve the chances of winning both games. Our system takes the fewest amount of points possible (to maximize profits over time) while still giving both games an excellent chance to win.
Think of football teaser bets as investments – by following our research and guidance, you can take the emotions out of gambling and learn to win teaser bets consistently over time.
Placing a bet
So you’ve found a good sportsbook, you know the game you want to place a bet on, now what? Select the bet type, the wager amount (how much money you want to bet), and submit the wager. Every casino and sportsbook is different, so make sure to check the specific rules about placing a bet with them. In every case, you will have to pay what is called a VIG – it is the fee that sportsbooks take from each bet. If you see a line that has a -110 next to it, you have to bet $110 to win $100 back.
