Pick 2: Carolina vs. Tennessee and New England vs. New York (NFC)

The Teaser: Pair Carolina and New England

Game 1: Carolina vs. Tennessee

The Initial Line:

Carolina -4.5 away vs. Tennessee

The Take:

Add 8 points to Carolina’s line

The Final Line:

Carolina +3.5

The Breakdown:

Carolina was able to pull off the home win against Green Bay to remain undefeated on the season. Tennessee got the best of New Orleans in OT to complete the huge upset and move to 2-6 on the year. Carolina has emerged as arguably the best team in the NFC over Green Bay and Arizona. They have excelled on both sides of the ball, and people are starting to wonder whether they can pull out an undefeated regular season. Despite the showing in NO, Tennessee is still a work in progress behind rookie QB Marcus Mariota. Cam Newton on the other hand is having an MVP-like season with his lethal passing/rushing attack. Kuechly, Davis, and Norman are anchoring the Carolina defense that is only allowing 20.6 PPG. Tennessee has only managed to score over 20 points 3 times this season, and that was against poor defenses (TB, Ind, NO). Take Carolina here to keep their unbeaten streak going.

Final Stat:Carolina ranks 4th in the league with a +5 turnover differential. Tennessee ranks 26th with a -6 differential.

Game 2: New England vs. New York (NFC)

The Initial Line:

New England -8.5 away vs. New York (NFC)

The Take:

Add 8 points to New England’s line

The Final Line:

New England -0.5

The Breakdown:

New England secured another dominant victory last weekend with a home win over Washington 27-10. New York was able to go on the road to defeat Tampa Bay 32-18 to remain atop the NFC East at 5-4. New York has always been a classic nemesis to New England, as Eli Manning’s 2 super bowl victories both came against this squad. However things may not go as smoothly for them this time around, as New England’s offense has been almost unstoppable at times. Couple that with a New York defense that gives up the most yds in the league, and that spells a long day for the NFC East leaders. One part of this New England team that has been overshadowed by Brady is the play of the defense, who currently ranks 5th in points allowed/game (17.9). New York will pressure Brady and give them a tough fight at home, but expect another New England victory as they’ll come out 9-0.

Final Stat: Tom Brady’s numbers are staggering at this point, as he has 22 TDs, 2 INTs, and a 113.5 QB rating.
