Pick 3: San Francisco vs. Seattle and Tennessee vs. Jacksonville

Pick 3: San Francisco vs. Seattle and Tennessee vs. Jacksonville

The Teaser: Pair San Francisco and Tennessee

Game 1: San Francisco vs. Seattle

The Initial Line:

San Francisco +13.5 away vs. Seattle

The Take:

Add 8 points to San Francisco’s line

The Final Line:

San Francisco +21.5

The Breakdown:

San Francisco got to enjoy a bye after a 17-16 win with backup QB Blaine Gabbert at the helm. Seattle fell for the 2nd time at home this season to division rival Arizona 39-32. If you looked at both of these teams on paper, you’d think Seattle was hands down the better team. However San Francisco is only 1 game behind them, and both teams might be in danger of missing the playoffs. San Francisco went up against one of the best RBs in the league in Devonta Freeman, but was able to hold him to 12 yds on 12 carries in their last game. Hopefully they can repeat this performance against Marshawn Lynch who helps dictate the Seattle offense. San Francisco always seems to give their division rival a tough time, even if they are the inferior team. San Fran may not win the game, but taking them with a 3 TD cushion against a team that only averages 22.1 PPG seems like a good bet.

Final Stat: San Francisco’s turnover differential is only -1, but Seattle’s not far ahead at 0.

Game 2: Tennessee vs. Jacksonville

The Initial Line:

Tennessee +2.5 away vs. Jacksonville

The Take:

Add 8 points to Tennessee’s line

The Final Line:

Tennessee +10.5

The Breakdown:

Tennessee fell at the hands of undefeated Carolina Sunday, losing 27-10 at home. Jacksonville was able to steal a victory after a late missed penalty in Baltimore, winning 22-20. Since Indianapolis has had a poor start to the season, each of the AFC South teams has a shot at first place as all are within 2 games. Although Tennessee is currently 2-7, their defense has done their part as they rank 5th in the league in yards allowed. Both teams have had their struggles on offense, as they land in the bottom 3rd of the league. Tennessee was able to hang with Carolina for 3 quarters until they got 10 points in the 4th to pull away. As this is a divisional game with a playoff spot up for grabs, expect this one to stay a close defensive battle. Tennessee with a TD and FG cushion should be enough to cover easily.

Final Stat: Tennessee ranks 5th in the league with 27 sacks, which doesn’t bode well for a team giving up the 5th most sacks in the NFL.
