Pick 2: Philadelphia vs. Washington and Green Bay vs. San Francisco

Pick 2: Philadelphia vs. Washington and Green Bay vs. San Francisco

The Teaser: Pair Philadelphia and Green Bay

Game 1: Philadelphia vs. Washington

The Initial Line:

Philadelphia -3 away vs. Washington

The Take:

Add 7.5 points to Philadelphia’s line

The Final Line:

Philadelphia +4.5

The Breakdown:

Philly got a much needed win on Sunday to keep them in the playoff hunt. Washington fell on Thursday Night Football to their NFC East foe in New York to move to 1-2. Both of these teams are in the NFC East division race, as Dallas only leads by a game at the moment. However the fact of the matter is that Philly is a much better team than Washington. The running game showed a glimmer of what they can do with Ryan Mathews rushing for over 100 yds and Sproles getting the rush TD, and that was without DeMarco Murray (who should be back in Week 4). Washington’s defense has improved greatly, but they still don’t have much on the opposite side of the ball with Kirk Cousins leading the charge. Philly needs this game more, and has the talent to win so long as they execute. Grab them at +4.5 in case the last minute FG crushes them.

Final Stat: Philly is tied for 3rd in defensive takeaways this season, while Washington is tied for 4th in offensive turnovers.

Game 2: Green Bay vs. San Francisco

The Initial Line:

Green Bay -9.5 away vs. San Francisco

The Take:

Add 7.5 points to Green Bay’s line

The Final Line:

Green Bay -2

The Breakdown:

Green Bay once again showed why they are the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl, as Aaron Rodgers threw for 5 TDs in route to a 3-0 start. San Francisco seems to be going downhill by the week, as they were crushed by Arizona 47-7. Kaepernick has played very poorly as of late, throwing 4 INTs (2 returned for TDs) against Arizona last weekend. The defense hasn’t helped much either, as they rank 31st in pts allowed/game and that’s after holding Minnesota to 3 pts in week 1. When faced with good offenses like Pittsburgh and Arizona, SF had no chance of stopping them. Green Bay arguably has the best offense in football and should be able to rack up huge points against a depleted SF defense. Take the pack at -2, even though the probably won’t need any extra points in this one.

Final Stat: Aaron Rodgers has had a passer rating over 100 for 10 of the last 11 games dating back to last season.
