Pick 3: Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh and Arizona vs. Cleveland

Pick 3: Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh and Arizona vs. Cleveland

The Teaser: Pair Cincinnati and Arizona

Game 1: Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh

The Initial Line:

Cincinnati even away vs. Pittsburgh

The Take:

Add 8 points to Cincinnati’s line

The Final Line:

Cincinnati +8

The Breakdown:

Cincinnati got to enjoy a bye week after going 6-0 to start the season. Pittsburgh fell on the road to Kansas City 23-13 with Landry Jones at the QB position. This week Pittsburgh will get its star QB back in Roethlisberger, but he will have no time to get back in sync against undefeated Cincinnati team. Relying on the Pittsburgh defense might be a tough task as well, as they are facing a 3rd ranked offense (30.3 PPG) with Andy Dalton leading the charge. Also give credit to Cincy’s O-line for their offensive production, as they’ve arguably been one of the best in the game. Both of these teams have a +3 turnover differential, and this should be a great divisional game. I still give the edge to Cincinnati talent-wise, but this one will likely come down to a late FG to seal it. Get Cincinnati with some insurance points in case Big Ben can rally the troops late to victory.

Final Stat: Andy Dalton is ranked 1st in QB Rating so far this year at 116.1.

Game 2: Arizona vs. Cleveland

The Initial Line:

Arizona -4.5 away vs. Cleveland

The Take:

Add 8 points to Arizona’s line

The Final Line:

Arizona +3.5

The Breakdown:

Arizona was able to hold on for the MNF win against Baltimore 26-18. Cleveland struggled on the road and lost to St. Louis 24-6. There has to be some concern in Cleveland after 4 fumbles last week and their 2-5 record so far. Arizona is looking to take a stranglehold on the NFC West division as they currently have a 2 win lead over St. Louis. Cleveland is 0-3 against strong defenses on the year (New York, Denver, St. Louis), and will face another tough test against Arizona who ranks 8th in points allowed/game (19.0). They’ve also had their troubles on offense, ranking 6th in yards gained but only 23rd in points scored. Arizona is tied for 3rd with 15 takeaways on the year, which may cause problems for Josh McCown. The fact is that Arizona is better on both sides of the ball, and should be able to handle this Cleveland squad easily.

Final Stat: Carson Palmer is now 11-2 since the beginning of 2014, the best record of any QB over than span with at least 5 starts.
