Teaser Pick 1: Pittsburgh vs. Washington and Baltimore vs. Buffalo

The Teaser: Pair Pittsburgh and Baltimore

Game 1: Pittsburgh vs. Washington

The Initial Line:

Pittsburgh -3 away vs. Washington

The Take:

Add 7.5 points to Pittsburgh’s line

The Final Line:

Pittsburgh +4.5

The Breakdown:

Pittsburgh is looking to build off of their 2015 season where they went 10-6 and made it to the divisional round, only to see their season cut short by the now reigning Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos. Washington got a surprisingly strong performance from Kirk Cousins last season, as he led them to a 9-7 record and the NFC East crown. However Green Bay ended their hopes of a long playoff run, as the lost in the wild card round with home field advantage 35-18. Pittsburgh currently sits #2 in the Power Rankings headed into the season, with arguably the best offensive combination of Big Ben, Antonio Brown, and Le’veon Bell. However past Cousins Washington has a lot of question marks, although they did upgrade the defense a bit with the addition of Josh Norman. This should be a competitive game, but Pittsburgh should eventually edge out Washington. Take them with 4.5pt in case Washington pulls out the last minute field goal victory..

Game 2: Baltimore vs. Buffalo

The Initial Line:

Baltimore -3 home vs. Buffalo

The Take:

Add 7.5 points to Baltimore’s line

The Final Line:

Baltimore +4.5

The Breakdown:

Baltimore had a disappointing 2015 campaign with a 5-11 record, although they had 9 losses by 8 or less points which led the NFL. Buffalo continued its run of mediocrity after going 8-8 in 2015, but saw some signs of hope with the development of Tyrod Taylor. The loss of Steve Smith Sr. was a huge loss to the offense, although he’s back once again for his last season and should make a big impact immediately. Baltimore was 26th in the league in red zone efficiency, and this number should improve in 2016. Buffalo’s defense has already taken some hits with the suspension of Marcell Dareus for 4 games and injuries to Shaq Lawson and Reggie Ragland. Baltimore is notoriously a tough team to beat at home besides last season, and expect them to come out strong in the opener. They should be able to defeat Buffalo, but they will keep it a tight game and could pull out the late FG victory so grab them with some insurance points.
