Teaser Pick 2: Dallas vs. Pittsburgh and San Diego vs. Miami

The Teaser: Pair Dallas and San Diego

Game 1: Dallas vs. Pittsburgh

The Initial Line:

Dallas +2.5 away vs. Pittsburgh

The Take:

Add 8 points to Dallas’s line

The Final Line:

Dallas +10.5

The Breakdown:

Dallas got its 7th consecutive victory on Sunday, as they crushed Cleveland on the road 35-10. Pittsburgh looked out of sorts this past weekend, as they fell to divisional rival Baltimore 21-14. Dallas is tied for the best record in the NFL with NE behind the stellar play of many on the offensive side of the ball including Prescott, Elliott, and the entire OL. They have had a balanced attack each game, and that has led to them ranking 3rd in the NFL in yards/game. Pittsburgh looked like a force in the AFC early, but has hit a recent snag and had a hobbled Roethlisberger looking less than sharp on Sunday. His QBR was only 14.6 after he had posted above 54.6 for 5 of the 6 games. Pittsburgh usually has a strong home-field advantage, but with Big Ben fighting through injuries the team looks a lot different and may have trouble against the NFL’s elite in Dallas. I still expect a back-and-forth battle though, so grab Dallas with some extra points in case Big Ben can rally the team to victory.

Game 2: San Diego vs. Miami

The Initial Line:

San Diego -3.5 home vs. Miami

The Take:

Add 8 points to San Diego’s line

The Final Line:

San Diego +4.5

The Breakdown:

San Diego was able to get the home win on Sunday, as they defeated Tennessee 43-35. Miami kept their momentum rolling as well, as they beat division rival New York for their 3rd straight victory. Both of these teams are in tough divisions, as New England dominates the AFC East and the AFC West is the best division in football right now. San Diego may be 4-5, but every loss has been by 7 pts or less and they’ve hurt themselves at the end a couple of times. However, they’ve won 3 out of their last 4 games and look like a team primed to fight for a playoff spot. Miami has been on a hot streak, but let’s not forget that they’re the same team who should have lost to Cleveland at home but sneaked away after a late missed FG. Philip Rivers has been one of the best QBs in football ranking 4th in passing yards, while Ryan Tannehill ranks just 22nd. Miami has been fueled by Jay Ajayi in the run game, but SD’s defense ranks 5th in the NFL in rush yards allowed/game (85.3). Expect a good game here, and even though SD should still be favored getting them at +4.5 will ensure victory.
