Take Detroit -6.5 home vs. Jacksonville
Detroit reaped the benefits of a bye week as all other NFC North teams lost, so they are now tied with Minnesota atop the division with a 5-4 record. Jacksonville suffered their 4th straight loss, as they fell at home to Houston 24-21. Jacksonville’s confidence has to be at an all-time low as they are doing some soul searching to see where they’ve gone wrong this season. Matthew Stafford is having one of his best years in the NFL, as he ranks 5th in passer rating and completion % without Calvin Johnson. The offense has done a good job of protecting the football as well, as they are tied for 2nd with 6 giveaways on the year. Jacksonville on the other hand is tied for 29th with 19 giveaways, and they’ve also only generated 5 takeaways on defense which ranks last in the NFL. Detroit is 3-1 at home so far, with their only loss coming by 1 pt to Tennessee in Week 2. Expect them to be well rested off the bye and take advantage of a struggling Jacksonville squad as they look to keep top position in the NFC North race.
