Take Oakland -3.5 home vs. Carolina
Oakland was able to make a comeback on Monday Night Football in Mexico, as they got the win against Houston 27-20. Carolina was able to withstand a ferocious comeback from New Orleans on Thursday Night Football, as they held on to win at home 23-20. These are two teams who have flipped the scripts on their stories from last season, but in opposing directions. Oakland is off to their best start since 2002 as they’ve improved from a 7-9 season in 2015 to a 8-2 record in 2016 and positioned as the #1 seed in the AFC currently. Carolina made the Super Bowl last season, but is struggling to even make noise in the NFC playoff picture as they sit at 4-6. As a team, Oakland has posted the 5th best offense in the NFL, and should find more success against a Carolina team that is ranked 22nd in points allowed (24.6 PPG) and may be without their star LB Luke Keuchly (concussion). Oakland’s defense has improved a bit as well, as after allowing at least 25+ points in 5 of their first 6 games they haven’t allowed that total during their 4 game win streak. Oakland will be at home and looking to add to their AFC playoff lead, look for them to continue their success this weekend.
