Teaser Pick 2: Chicago vs. Green Bay and Oakland vs. San Diego

Teaser Pick 2: Chicago vs. Green Bay and Oakland vs. San Diego

The Teaser: Pair Chicago and Oakland

Game 1: Chicago vs. Green Bay

The Initial Line:

Chicago +6.5 home vs. Green Bay

The Take:

Add 8 points to Chicago’s line

The Final Line:

Chicago +14.5

The Breakdown:

Chicago lost a tight game on the road in Detroit, as they fell 20-17. Green Bay was able to get a huge win over powerhouse Seattle, as it wasn’t even close in Lambeau when they snatched the 38-10 victory. Despite only winning 1 of their past 4 games, Chicago continues to make things competitive as they haven’t lost by more than 6 points to New York, Tennessee, and Detroit who are all in the playoff mix. Aaron Rodgers had a stellar game on Sunday, but added an ankle injury to his already injured hamstring which may affect his abilities a bit. Historically Chicago gives Green Bay a tough test in most of their games, as they are 1-1 in their last 2 matchups. Also often unnoticed this season is how well Chicago’s defense has been, as they rank 7th in the NFL in yards allowed. Green Bay may ultimately pull out the victory, but I wouldn’t overlook Chicago’s passion for success at home vs a division rival. Take them with the points here.

Game 2: Oakland vs. San Diego

The Initial Line:

Oakland -3 away vs. San Diego

The Take:

Add 8 points to Oakland’s line

The Final Line:

Oakland +5

The Breakdown:

Oakland couldn’t take down their divisional rival, as they moved to #2 in the AFC West with a road loss to KC 21-13. San Diego continues to find ways to lose, as they fell on the road to Carolina 28-16. Derek Carr will look to rebound from the worst game of his career as he travels back to the west coast. Oakland still sits at 10-3 as is in a prime position to grab a playoff spot, but they want to get some home games mixed in there if possible. They are still tied for the 2nd best offense in the NFL with 27.5 PPG, and will look to continue that trend this weekend. We’ll have to see how banged up Melvin Gordon and Joey Bosa are, as they both were injured in last week’s contest. Bottom line is that everyone was talking about Oakland as the best team in the NFL before last week’s game, and you know they’ll come out to play against their CA rivals on Sunday. They should be able to win here, but they won’t lose by more than a FG either way.
