Teaser Pick 1: Chicago vs. Detroit and Houston vs. Tennessee

The Teaser: Pair Chicago and Houston

Game 1: Chicago vs. Detroit

The Initial Line:

Chicago +3.5 home vs. Detroit

The Take:

Add 7 points to Chicago’ line

The Final Line:

Chicago +10.5

The Breakdown:

Chicago fell once again to stay defeated, as they lost on the road to Dallas 31-17. Detroit also suffered a defeat on the road, as they’re rally was too late to beat division rival Green Bay 34-27. Chicago got a solid effort out of backup QB Brian Hoyer, as he went 30-49 for 317 yds and 2 TDs. The problem was the defense let them down on Sunday Night Football, as they couldn’t slow down Dak Prescott or Ezekiel Elliott. Detroit has shown glimpses of life behind Matthew Stafford, but they still sit at 1-2 on the season and 3rd in the NFC North division. This should be a good divisional matchup, and with Chicago being at home they should have their passionate fans rumbling. This game could go either way, but Brian Hoyer or Jay Cutler should be able to keep them in the game against a weak Detroit defense. A TD and FG cushion should be plenty.

Game 2: Houston vs. Tennessee

The Initial Line:

Houston -7 home vs. Tennessee

The Take:

Add 7 points to Houston’s line

The Final Line:

Houston even

The Breakdown:

Houston was completely overrun in New England on Thursday Night Football, as they were embarrassed 27-0. Tennessee wasn’t able to get the victory at home on Sunday, as Oakland came in to defeat them 17-10. Houston was looking like a strong team at 2-0 until they went into New England. Brock Osweiler had shown signs of promise in his first couple starts with Houston, Arian Foster looks like he’s found a positive new home and the defense had been dominant. A couple kickoff fumbles shifted the momentum greatly last Thursday, but expect them to rebound this week. Tennessee is a team still trying to find themselves, as they’ve shown glimpses of great play with Marcus Mariota and DeMarco Murray leading the way. Houston still has the firepower to return to dominance, and I expect them to against this Tennessee team. They should secure the win, but in case it gets close take some extra points.
