Teaser Pick 1: Arizona vs. San Francisco and Pittsburgh vs. New York (AFC)

The Teaser: Pair Arizona and Pittsburgh

Game 1: Arizona vs. San Francisco

The Initial Line:

Arizona -3 away vs. San Francisco

The Take:

Add 6.5 points to Arizona’s line

The Final Line:

Arizona +3.5

The Breakdown:

Arizona once again lost this past weekend, as they fell at home to LA 17-13 to move to 1-3 on the season. San Francisco couldn’t close the deal at home, as they were defeated by the rookies in Dallas by a score of 24-17. Arizona’s season has been backwards so far this year as many predicted them going to the Super Bowl, but a string of poor performances and turnovers has doomed them so far. They’ve had 5 turnovers in 2 straight games, which hasn’t happened in Arizona since 1992. However, they only lost 17-13 despite those 5 turnovers on Sunday and still gained 420 total yards on offense. Bottom line is the team is underperforming and the momentum is bound to shift in their favor soon. San Francisco is also 1-3 in the NFC West division, but they haven’t done much since their opening season victory. They currently rank 28th in total offensive yards gained and 26th in total defensive yards gained. On the flipside, Arizona ranks 7th in offensive yards and 9th in defensive yards. Mistakes have killed Arizona but they will begin to fix those issues soon. Despite not having Carson Palmer, they’re still a good play here knowing that they have big playmakers and need a victory to stay in playoff contention.

Game 2: Pittsburgh vs. New York (AFC)

The Initial Line:

Pittsburgh -7 home vs. New York (AFC)

The Take:

Add 6.5 points to Pittsburgh’s line

The Final Line:

Pittsburgh -0.5

The Breakdown:

Pittsburgh cruised to a victory on Sunday Night Football, responding with a dominant home victory 43-14 over Kansas City. New York had another poor performance from Ryan Fitzpatrick Sunday, as they fell to Seattle 27-17 to move to 1-3 on the year. After Pittsburgh was embarrassed by their interstate rival Philadelphia a week ago, they responded by putting up 43 pts behind a 5 TD performance by Big Ben. Le’Veon Bell also made his return to the offense known by rushing 18 times for 144 yds and an 8.0 yards/carry average. New York is trying to regroup as they now rank dead last in the NFL in turnover differential at -11, but the defense has also only forced 2 turnovers which is 29th in the NFL. Their defense was supposed to be the anchor of the team, yet they rank 21st in pts/game allowed. Pittsburgh is probably just behind or ahead of New England and Denver as the best team in the AFC, and expect them to secure a victory this weekend as New York has been worn down with tough opponents lately.
