Take Denver even away vs. Oakland
Denver was able to hold on to their lead Sunday, as they got the home victory against division rival San Diego 27-19. Oakland got a late TD to force OT, and ended up getting yet another road victory over Tampa Bay 30-24. Oakland has been one of the surprises of the season, as they now have the 2nd position in the AFC playoff standings with a 6-2 record. Their offense has clicked on all cylinders, as they rank 5th in yards/game. However, the defense has been another story as they are one of the worst in the league (31st) in yards allowed. Their record is 6-2 but their point differential is +12 which does not bode well for the long-term. Denver has gone a bit under the radar despite their 6-2 start, and their defense continues to dominate. They rank 3rd in yards allowed/game and have 16 takeaways (most in the NFL). This should be a good divisional matchup between the AFC West co-leaders, but the edge still goes to Denver. If they can slow down Oakland’s offense on a few possessions, Trevor Siemian should be able to move the ball against their defense. The game is in Oakland, but that’s hardly been an advantage for them as they are only 4-7 since the beginning of 2015. Denver is the better team here and will expose Oakland’s defense as well as force Derek Carr into mistakes since they lead the league in sacks. Take Denver to win here.
