Teaser Pick 1: Atlanta vs. Tampa Bay and Dallas vs. Cleveland

Teaser Pick 1: Atlanta vs. Tampa Bay and Dallas vs. Cleveland

The Teaser: Pair Atlanta and Dallas

Game 1: Atlanta vs. Tampa Bay

The Initial Line:

Atlanta -3.5 away vs. Tampa Bay

The Take:

Add 7 points to Atlanta’s line

The Final Line:

Atlanta +3.5

The Breakdown:

Atlanta was able to sneak away with the late victory, as they took down Green Bay at home 33-32. Tampa Bay lost another game at home, this time coming in OT to Oakland 30-24. Atlanta continues to show a powerful offensive attack each week, as they’ve been able to score at least 23 pts in every game behind stellar play from Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. Tampa Bay ranks 26th in yards allowed and may have their hands full trying to contain Atlanta’s explosive attack. There was a lot of hype for Jameis Winston coming into his second year season, but he hasn’t really performed as everyone would have hoped. Currently he ranks 25th in the NFL in passer rating, and has had his struggle all season. Atlanta has had their struggles on defense which may help Winston, but the turnover differential favors Atlanta in this one (+2 for Atlanta vs -2 for Tampa Bay). Tampa was able to pull out the week 1 victory in Georgia 31-24, but I don’t expect the same kind of performance this week as Matt Ryan hadn’t fully gotten into rhythm yet (has his worst game QBR at 45.3). this may be a close divisional matchup, but Atlanta can put up points in a hurry and Tampa Bay still hasn’t won at home. Atlanta will shine on Thursday Night Football, but grab them at +3.5 in case in close and they somehow lose it late on a FG.

Game 2: Dallas vs. Cleveland

The Initial Line:

Dallas -7 away vs. Cleveland

The Take:

Add 7 points to Dallas’s line

The Final Line:

Dallas even

The Breakdown:

Dallas made a torrid comeback on Sunday Night Football, as they pleased the home crowd with the OT victory over Philadelphia 29-23. Cleveland wasn’t able to hold on against New York, as they fell at home 31-28. Josh McCown gave Cleveland a spark of life as they were up 20-7 at halftime, but they couldn’t hold on as New York took the lead before the end of the 3rd quarter. This has not been the year for Cleveland (at least as far as football goes) as they have still yet to get a victory and the outlook doesn’t look good. Dallas has shown that both of their rookie are for real as they now sit at 6-1 with the #1 see in the NFC thus far. Behind a well-balanced offensive attack they’ve managed to rank 4th in the NFL in yard gained, and also protect the ball well with a +4 turnover differential. The defense has surprised many people as well, as they rank in the top 10 in points allowed per game. Cleveland has been all over the map, as injuries at QB have left them out of rhythm all season. They may be able to perform a bit better with McCown, but they’ve still got a ways to go and Dallas is a tough opponent to get it started against. They might keep it close, but Dallas will end up with the victory so grab them at pick’em to ensure a win.
