Wild Card Teaser 1: Seattle vs. Detroit and Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland

Wild Card Teaser 1: Seattle vs. Detroit and Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland

The Teaser: Pair Seattle and Pittsburgh

Game 1: Seattle vs. Detroit

The Initial Line:

Seattle -8 home vs. Detroit

The Take:

Add 7.5 points to Seattle’s line

The Final Line:

Seattle -0.5

The Breakdown:

Seattle was able to squeak out a victory on the road against their division rival, as the defeated San Francisco 25-23. Detroit couldn’t mount the comeback in the battle for the NFC North championship, as they fell to Green Bay 31-24. Wild Card weekend starts off with a great opening day, as Seattle looks to continue their home playoff dominance. They’ve now won their last 9 home playoff games dating back to 2004. They also come in with the #3 defense in the NFL, as they continue to shut down offenses. They should be able to handle Detroit’s offense easily, as they only finished 20th in the NFL in points scored. Pair that with the fact that Detroit has lost 3 straight and was only 3-5 on the road vs Seattle’s 7-1 home record, and Seattle looks like a lock to win and move on to the next round.

Game 2: Pittsburgh vs. Miami

The Initial Line:

Pittsburgh -10 home vs. Miami

The Take:

Add 7.5 points to Pittsburgh’s line

The Final Line:

Pittsburgh -2.5

The Breakdown:

Pittsburgh was able to hold on at home with their backups in the game, as they defeated Cleveland 27-24 in OT. Miami’s recent success at home against New England did not follow suit this year, as they were crushed 35-14. Pittsburgh has been one of the most explosives offenses in the NFL, as they ranked 7th in yards/game. Le’Veon Bell has been a big part of that surge, as he was able to gain 1,268 yards in only 12 games this season. Miami has been a nice surprise, even with the loss of Ryan Tannehill to injury. However Big Ben should be able to outplay Matt Moore given his years of elite play and playoff experience. Pittsburgh also brings a 7 game in streak into the playoffs, and they just have the firepower to outplay Miami. I expect a big win by the home team in this one, but just to be safe a FG should seal it.
