Take New York Giants +3.5 away vs. Tampa Bay
New York almost secured their first victory of the season, but a game-winning 61-yd FG sunk them as they lost a stunner on the road 27-24 to Philadelphia. Eli Manning did all he could for the offense, throwing for 366 yds, 3 TDs and 2 INTs after having little success in the first two weeks of the season. Tampa Bay was knocked down by a backup QB this weekend, losing in Minnesota 34-17. The defense gave up almost 500 yds and the offense had 3 turnovers in an all-around sloppy game against Case Keenum, who filled in for injured QB Sam Bradford.
New York knows that a 0-3 start is not where they wanted to be, and this Tampa Bay game is essentially a must-win to even have an outside chance at the playoffs. Tampa Bay is dealing with a ton of injuries on the defensive side of the ball which has hurt them dearly as seen in week 3, including CB Grimes, LB Alexander, LB David, DT McCoy and DE Spence. If Eli has time to throw he’ll be able to make some plays downfield, and let’s not forget that New York’s defense is one of the best in the league. They’ve had 6 sacks in the last 2 games and still have not hit their stride. I think this is the week they put it all together and get their first win against a banged up Tampa Bay defense and with their season on the line. Either way it should be a close game, so they’re still covered if a FG happened to crush them for the 2nd straight week.
