Take Arizona +3.5 away (in London) vs Los Angeles Rams
Arizona got a much needed home victory on Sunday, exploding on offense to win 38-33 at home over Tampa Bay. Adrian Peterson got the best start he could have hoped for in a new uniform, carrying the ball 26 times for 134 yds and 2 TDs. The Los Angeles Rams were able to take care of business on the road, leveraging strong special teams against Jacksonville for the 27-17 victory. A 103 yd kickoff return TD gave LA a great jump start to begin the game, and a blocked punt in the 2nd quarter helped LA amass 24 point before the half in route to their 4th victory.
After a year full of offensive struggles since the David Johnson injury, AP may have been the answer Arizona was looking for to balance the offense. They had only amassed over 20 points once all season before Sunday (week 1), and almost doubled that total this week. They will need to take advantage of some ground yards against their division rival this week, as LA ranks 29th in rush yards/game (139.5) but is 13th in pass yards/game. Arizona will likely force Jared Goff to beat them in this game and not Todd Gurley, as he will struggle against their 9th ranked run defense. It almost looked as if Arizona’s season would be a major disappointment before the signing of AP, but they now have a new spark of hope and will feel good being at .500 to this point in the season. LA has gotten off to a great start as well at 4-2, but both teams have to travel to London for this one and may struggle to find their groove. I think this will be a close game to the end, and likely one team will win on a late FG so +3.5 feels pretty generous on a neutral site.
