Teaser Pick – Week 7 – Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh and New York Giants vs. Seattle

Teaser Pick – Week 7 – Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh and New York Giants vs. Seattle

The Teaser: Pair Cincinnati and New York Giants

Game 1: Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh

The Initial Line:

Cincinnati +5.5 away vs. Pittsburgh

The Take:

Add 8.5 points to Cincinnati’s line

The Final Line:

Cincinnati +14

The Breakdown:

Cincinnati got to enjoy a bye week after starting the year 2-3. After starting off the year 0-2 and wondering where the offense is, they’ve come back strong averaging 25.0 PPG the last 3 games after averaging only 4.5 PPG the first two. Pittsburgh got a huge road upset against an undefeated Kansas City squad, winning 19-13. Pittsburgh’s defense was able to stymie KC’s offense, as they held them to only 251 yds of total offense.

Pittsburgh has been up and down all season, alternating wins and losses the last 4 games, and the offense has been hit or miss. For such an established QB, Ben Roethlisberger has been struggling most of the year, ranking 27th in passer rating. Cincinnati has not gotten enough credit for their defense, as they currently rank 2nd in yards allowed/game at 262.8. The last 3 games have gone Pittsburgh’s way, but have only been decided by an average of 4.66 points/game. Cincinnati has been rolling as of late with 3 straight wins against the spread, and had a bye week to rest some of their players. Expect a tight game in this rivalry, but take some extra points since they’re on the road. A 2 TD cushion should be plenty.

Game 2: New York Giants vs. Seattle

The Initial Line:

New York Giants +5.5 home vs. Seattle

The Take:

Add 8.5 points to New York’s line

The Final Line:

New York Giants +14

The Breakdown:

New York got arguably the biggest upset of the season, cruising into Denver for the 23-10 win and their first victory of the season. Despite having a couple of their major WRs out for the year, including Beckham Jr and Marshall, they overcame with their defense forcing 3 turnovers and a TD on Sunday Night Football. Seattle got to enjoy a bye week after starting the year 3-2 and is currently sitting 2nd in the NFC West. They are currently above .500, but their division now has some legit competition with Arizona and the improved LA Rams both at .500 or better through 6 weeks.

New York was able to establish the run game against the #1 run defense in the NFL, with RB Darkwa carrying 21 times for 117 yds. They were also supposed to be known for their defense going into the season, and finally got it going with 4 sacks on Sunday night. Seattle’s defense still hasn’t been up to their usual standard, as they’re only ranked 15th in yards allowed/game at 330.0. They’re also still infamously weaker on the road behind Wilson, who’s only 23-19-1 career vs 36-6 at home. They also haven’t won by more than 10 on the road since week 17 of the 2015 season, so taking New York with momentum at home with extra points seems logical here. Give them the 2-TD cushion for a safe victory.
