Pick 4: Kansas City vs. Buffalo and Pittsburgh vs. New York (AFC)

Pick 4: Kansas City vs. Buffalo and Pittsburgh vs. New York (AFC)

The Teaser: Pair Kansas City and Pittsburgh

Game 1: Kansas City vs. Buffalo

The Initial Line:

Kansas City -3 away vs. Buffalo

The Take:

Add 7.5 points to Kansas City’s line

The Final Line:

Kansas City +4.5

The Breakdown:

Kansas City enjoyed another home win this weekend, as they defeated New York 24-10. Alex Smith once again did a great job managing the offense, gaining 199 yards and 2 TDs. Jamall Charles added 79 yards on the ground and 1 TD. They have now won 5 of their last 6 and sit at 5-3 on the season moving ahead of San Diego. Buffalo enjoyed a bye week in week 9, and sit at 5-3 on the season. They had a 2 game win streak going into the bye, defeating Minnesota and New York in their last 2 games. Kyle Orton had lead the team to a 3-1 record since the team decided to bench EJ Manuel, who had struggled mightily this season.

Both of these teams now sit at 5-3, and this should be a tough game at Ralph Wilson Stadium. However Kansas City seems to have the better overall team and will bring momentum into Buffalo. As long as Alex Smith continues to limit mistakes for the offense they should be in great shape, as Smith has only thrown 1 INT since week 1, where he had 3 INTs against Tennessee. Jamall Charles has also rushed for 4 TDs in his last 3 games, but will have a tough challenge rushing against an 8th ranked Buffalo rush defense. This game will be a close one, but Kansas City should be able to come out victorious in this one. Worst case take them at +4.5 in case they give up the lead late.

Game 2: Pittsburgh vs. New York (AFC)

The Initial Line:

Pittsburgh -6 away vs. New York (AFC)

The Take:

Add 7.5 points to Pittsburgh’s line

The Final Line:

Pittsburgh +1.5

The Breakdown:

Pittsburgh kept their momentum rolling on Sunday Night Football, as they stomped over division rival 43-23 at home. Ben Roethlisberger had a record breaking night with 6 more TD passes in this one to bring the total to 12 over the last 2 weeks. Antonio Brown was a major contributor to Big Ben’s passing attack with 144 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. New York suffered their 8th straight defeat, losing to Kansas City on the road 24-10. Michael Vick got the starting nod, and had a decent game going 21/28 with 196 yds and 1 TD. New York was able to put together 3 drives of over 60 yards, but only scored on 1 of them which adds to their offensive woes.

These are two teams headed in opposite directions. New York has lost 8 straight and is looking for any kind of spark it can get. Meanwhile Pittsburgh has won 3 straight on the heels of Ben Roethlisberger’s recent surge. He has now thrown 14 TDs and 0 INTs during the 3 game winning streak. Also Antonio Brown has become a DB’s nightmare this year, as he leads the NFL in receiving yards with 996 and has 8 TDs. I don’t expect New York to lie down in this one, but Pittsburgh will keep their momentum going and get a road win here. Take them at +1.5 to ensure their 4th straight win seals a pick victory for us.
