Pick 2: Philadelphia vs. Dallas and New England vs. Green Bay

Pick 2: Philadelphia vs. Dallas and New England vs. Green Bay

The Teaser: Pair Philadelphia and New England

Game 1: Philadelphia vs. Green Bay

The Initial Line:

Philadelphia +3 away vs. Dallas

The Take:

Add 8.5 points to Philadelphia’s line

The Final Line:

Philadelphia +11.5

The Breakdown:

Philadelphia stayed undefeated at home, defeating Tennessee 43-24. The momentum was in Philly’s corner from the beginning, as Josh Huff returned the kickoff 107 yds for a TD to start the game. Sanchez had a quality game, going 30-43 for 307 yds, 1 TD and 2 INT. LeSean McCoy had a great game for the offense, rushing for 130 yds and a TD. Dallas was able to rally against division rival New York on Sunday Night Football, winning 31-28. Despite one of the best catches ever seen on the NY side by Odell Beckham Jr., Dallas came back from a 21-10 halftime deficit to win. Tony Romo had a big game, throwing for 275 yds and 4 TDs. DeMarco Murray also turned in one of his “normal” games of 121 yds rushing.

This is one of the three great divisional games scheduled for Thanksgiving (the other two are Det/Chi and Sea/SF). Both Philly and Dallas sit at 8-3 on the season, and have high-powered offenses leading the way. However Philly holds the edge in points for the season by 50. I don’t see either of these teams having a clear advantage, but the line has shifted Dallas’ way to -3 since they are at home and “America’s team”. This means there’s value on Philly, as the most likely outcome of this game is a shootout with one team coming out victorious by a touchdown in the end. Go with Philly and the 11.5 points here.

Game 2: New England vs. Green Bay

The Initial Line:

New England +3 away vs. Green Bay

The Take:

Add 8.5 points to New England’s line

The Final Line:

New England +11.5

The Breakdown:

New England is the hottest team in the NFL right now (that’s right GB fans), as they defeated Detroit easily with a 34-9 home win. They have won their last 4 games by 20+ points against some very good teams (Detroit, Indianapolis, Denver, Chicago). Tom Brady shined once again in this one, as he threw for 349 yds, 2 TDs and an INT. New (old?) pickup LeGarrette Blount had a great game for NE, rushing for 78 yds and 2 TDs. The defense also played a great game against a potent Detroit offense, recording 1 INT, 2 sacks, and holding them to 3 FGs. Green Bay is the other hot team in the NFL right now, as the gained a road win in Minnesota 24-21. Rodgers only had 209 yds and 2 TDs (bad game for his standards) but Eddie Lacy added 125 rush yds and a TD to help balance the offense.
